To fulfill our mandate, it will be important for the Commission to gather input on different aspects of our work from various groups and members of the public in affected communities.

We are taking this same approach to working with the public. We will be inviting the public to contribute by sharing their experience, and the impact the mass casualty had on them. Before we do that, we would like to understand how people would like to share their stories to make sure we have the right channels to collect this often difficult information. There will also be other opportunities for members of the public to participate in the Commission’s process in the future.

All stories and experiences about the impact of the mass casualty gathered through this process will be collected and reviewed by the Commissioners and the Commission team. Sharing Your Experience is one of the many ways the Commission is gathering information about the mass casualty, others include investigations, fact finding about the events, research, and other types public consultations.

Capturing the broad impact of the mass casualty on people across Nova Scotia and Canada will enrich our work and help shape the Commission’s findings and recommendations to keep communities safer in the future.

We want to hear from you about if and how you would like to share your experience.

We will be launching a survey soon and will update this page with information. In the meantime, please feel free to share any initial thoughts or feedback using the contact information below.
